Three European teams are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool playmaker XerdanShaqiri in the summer. This is according to the publication from Italian news portal Calciomercato. It was revealed that two Italian Serie A clubs and one Spanish La Liga club are keen on the player that turns 30 later this year.
Liverpool manager JurgenKlopp is not expected to stand in the way of the Swiss international if a suitable offer comes in for him as he’s not a key player in his team. Shaqiri has never been a regular in the Liverpool XI since moving to the club from Stoke City. He was part of the Stoke City team that suffered relegation from the English top flight at the end of the 2017/18 Premier League campaign. The Reds paid around £13.5m for the Swiss national team player. Liverpool activated the relegation clause in his contract at Stoke City to sign him.
Shaqiri was linked with a move away from Liverpool at the start of the season but the €25m asking price was too high for interested clubs. His potential transfer fee would be significantly lower than that this summer.
Sevilla target Shaqiri has spent three seasons at Liverpool and during that time he has won the Premier League and the Champions League titles. He won the Champions League in his debut season with the Reds after the Merseyside club got the better of fellow Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur in the final. Liverpool saw off Spurs 2-0 with goals from Mohamed Salah and DivockOrigieither side of the interval. Salah scored the opening goal of the game from the spot in the first ten minutes before substitute Origi wrapped up the victory in the final ten minutes of the game.
