Liverpool are reportedly ready to sign experienced Inter Milan centre back Stefan de Vrij who has been on their radar for several months.
FC Inter News had earlier reported in December last year that Liverpool contacted super agent Mino Raiola to help them with the signing of Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij ahead of the winter transfer window. In the end, Liverpool signed defender Ben Davies from Preston North End in the English Championship in addition to the loan signing of Turkish international OzanKabakon loan from German Bundesliga club Schalke 04.
Recent reports claim that Liverpool manager JurgenKlopp has been impressed with Kabak and his displays in recent games. To this effect, Klopp and Liverpool are ready to turn his loan spell into a permanent one. The Reds are ready to trigger the £18m transfer fee option to make the loan move permanent as contained in the loan agreement signed by both Schalke 04 and Liverpool earlier this year.
Kabak was a member of the Schalke 04 team rooted to the bottom of the German Bundesliga before he left the club to sign for Liverpool on loan until this summer. The report from 90min claimed that the Reds want to extend his stay at Anfield by giving the 21-year-old centre back a permanent contract.
Dutch defender De Vrijcould be added to the defensive line-up at Liverpool if they are able to convince Inter Milan to sell the player. The 29-year-old earns just £63,000 weekly in Italy and a move to the Premier League will earn him more money. He has around two years left on his contract at Inter Milan until 2023 and it would take a big transfer fee for him to leave the club this summer.
