The Liverpool attacking duo of Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota have been ruled out of the Premier League encounter with Leeds United at home due to injury. Both Firmino and Jota were ruled out of the Leeds United game by their manager during his pre-match presser on Tuesday ahead of the match which will take place at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Jota suffered an ankle injury during the first half of the Inter Milan game last week Wednesday in the Champions League and he had to be substituted at half-time with Firmino coming on in his place. Firmino then scored the first goal of that Inter clash in the first leg of the round of 16 tie with his team as he set the Reds on the way to an impressive win. The Brazilian scored in the last quarter of the game before Egyptian attacker Mohamed Salah added a second goal to put Liverpool in a fantastic position to secure a quarterfinal berth in the competition. Firmino picked up a muscle injury during that Inter Milan game and that forced him to miss the 3-1 home win over Norwich City on Saturday alongside Jota.
In the absence of both Firmino and Jota, Liverpool boss Klopp will likely continue with the attacking trio of Mo Salah, new signing Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane just like he did during the Norwich City game last weekend.
