Real Sociedad forward Alexander Isak is a target for Premier League giants Liverpool. This is according to the report from media portal Noticias de Gipuzkoa which revealed that the tall Swedish international has caught the eye of Reds boss JurgenKlopp.
Klopp already has four good attackers in Egyptian national team talisman Mohamed Salah, Senegalese international star Sadio Mane, Portuguese player Diogo Jota and Brazilian star Roberto Firmino. The Liverpool manager might look to strengthen his attacking positions in the coming weeks by adding Isak to his firepower in the place of Belgian international attacker DivockOrigi who’s up for sale alongside Swiss playmaker XerdanShaqiri this summer. Origi and Shaqiri rarely played for the Reds last season and they are expected to move to new teams in time for the new season.
Apart from Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a move for Isak who scored the goals that propelled Real Sociedad to the Europa League once again. The 21-year-old scored 17 goals and also added two assists in 34 appearances for the Basque club in the league. Real Sociedad secured their place in the Europa League for the new season after finishing the season in fifth spot. Real Sociedad were in the same competition last season before they were dumped out by eventual finalists Manchester United in the round of 32 via a 4-0 aggregate defeat.
Isak signed a five-year deal when he joined Real Sociedad from Borussia Dortmund two years ago and he still has three more years to run on that contract. He has a release clause of £60m on his current contract with Real Sociedad.
